Follow the manufacturers recommendations for setting up the system. Ensure you have installed a micro SD card of sufficient capacity for your needs and turn the system on by turning the ignition key to the accessory position. The source of the dissatisfaction is entirely the unpredictability, and just like your struggles, they seem unlikely to fix that either. Plug in the short USB power cable into the USB power supply. I have a few clips of a vacation ride through the mountains. I've been able to review a few situations, to find out if I responded appropriately. It captured plate and face of the person who rear-ended me at an intersection. I'd still say I'm 80-90% satisfied with the K1. Super unuseful for actually trying to capture a moment. What I often get is the previous file from the rear camera, and the next file from the front. When you push it, it's supposed to save video from the front and rear camera from a minute or two before and after the push.

The one problem I'm still having, which could be a fatal flaw for some, is with the "save" button. The second recommendation seems like it could be solved on their end by writing better firmware, but I get that it's a somewhat reasonable bit of regular maintenance, like other bits of the bike need. The GPS still goes off once in a while, which is annoying, but at least the video is there. I did the first, and I've had very few gaps, if any, since. INNOV recommended two things to fix this: Once I noticed this, I found some (not all) of the missed recording times in files named for the incorrect date/time the K1 was using. It would be cruising along fine, and then suddenly clear to just a bunch of dashes, and the date and time usually went with it. I also noticed that sometimes the GPS reading went off. The following video might start immediately or might have a gap. I had it set to write 10-minute videos, and once in a while I'd see something less than ten minutes. The first two weeks of recording went smoothly, but then in the third week, I'd find that several minutes every so often were missing. I installed me a year ago, and had none of the problems your having, but I had others. You're reminding me that I need to writeup my own K1 experience. Heres a screen shot showing 44 emails as of today. I highly suggest finding a different company to deal with as INNOVV will NOT stand by their products.ĮTA: 10/22/17 - This is just for people who may stumble across this and question the emails. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THEY HAVE ASKED.Īll I want is a WORKING DVR or a refund and they will not do this. Have had phone calls with “techs” who speak very rough English to try and solve the problem. Forty (40) Emails trying to resolve this. I have multiple videos made and posted to my YouTube to show INNOVV the issues. Ordered, on my own dime, their power hub assuming that would help. Both are 1920x1080 while the K1 is 8mbps Mpeg 4 and the. I have been in constant contact with INNOVV since the very beginning over issues. A short video comparing the video quality of my rear facing Innovv K1 camera with the new Innovv C5. It’s not Aug, 2017 and the camera still fails to work. After having near misses while riding I felt this was a perfect solution to help protect me while riding……
Innovv k1 racerender install#
I tore my bike apart to have a professional looking install and minimize the appearance of the cameras. I purchased this back in November of 2016. For what I do making online motorcycle course videos the Innovv K1 is the perfect tool.Showing off Bikes or Gear? Click Here Looking for purchase advice? Click Here I can see this becoming a regular install on every motorcycle from here on out. The only other drawback I have found to this system is the DVR and GPS units are not water proof, so care must be taken in their placement on the motorcycle. While the video is not quite up to GoPro standards it is quite good for web use and the ease of use more than makes up for the slightly less quality of video. The K1 begins recording every time the motorcycle is started, it stops recording every time the motorcycle is shut down.

It is easy to forget it is there until you find a beautiful stretch of road and then after remembering that you left your GoPro camera at home you remember you can click a single button to assure that you can preserve the memory. Once installed the K1 becomes a seamless part of your motorcycle.

The Innovv K1 camera system is a front and rear facing camera system for a motorcycle that automatically records every time you start your motorcycle.
